What shirt can I match my tie with?

I have just bought a really nice pale pink woven tie with small black spots on it (I like it anyway) but when I have worn it people have told me it doesn't match my shirt. I really don't get the whole matching thing, usually I just choose which ever shirt is on top.





Any ideas what colour shirt might go with it? I dont have many shirts so the choices are basically: pale blue, white and thin lilac stripes, white and thin blue stripes or pink with thin blue stripes.

It would look best with a black shirt since the dots are black. But from your options I would say the hmm actually I dont know I don't think any of your shirts really match it. You should get a plain black shirt next chance you have or one that has the same colors- black and pink. Or plain white would work if you don't want black.

Reply:Actually the pink tie doesn't match any of those shirts. I suggest a black shirt. I know that sounds crazy...especially for the summer. However, a man's tie is the accent piece. It needs to show flair as well as sophistication. You wouldn't wear socks that clash. Ties are even more visable than socks!!! I suggest if you are having trouble coordinating your ties and shirts...ask a female friend/girlfriend/or sister to help you out. The pink tie sounds very cool, but with a wrong shirt the whole effect is ruined.

Reply:Definitely a pink shirt! (solid color) It does not need to be the exact shade as the pink tie. Try something a few shades darker for a dramatic effect.
