Room ideas please. (doecoration)?
craigs list, if you have it, is the best place for cheap and free stuff. Even paint.

I have a lot of beads that I wear and have made. I drew a large circle on my wall and hang all of my beads inside that circle. It is really interesting, was really cheap ( a box of push pins) and it is also functional. I also have a wall of different mirrors that I can hang in different combinations. You can have so much fun with this!

For decorating and design ideas Ikea has a great online catalog you can peruse as does pottery barn and crate and barrel. Bold color is wonderful, so are fabrics--you can literally nail them to the wall. I found some at a flea market once and staple gunned it to a wall--it was really nice.

Have fun!---Jane
Reply:Certainly there are hundreds of sites on the WWW that can offer PICS as well as ideas about decoration and coordination.

Paint is certainly a less expensive example of change, as opposed to carpet, but you left out what color that might be, and your definition of "match almost anything".

If I had a Beige carpet, for example, I'd hardly do much more than earth tones and/or coordinating natural colors to accessorize.

"CHEEP" (cheap, inexpensive) is relative to how you define that and what you can or want to afford. I so enjoy the fact that one gets what one pays for.

This is likely as personal an issue as ones religion, or politics, and My fave colors offered, might not at all be what you might like.

Think of the room as a place you want to either be comfortable in, or a very animated area that might be condusive to entertaining, etc.

Furniture certainly can be found in various price ranges as well as colorations, styles, and quality. I suspect all of those should be something you determine in the shopping process, and probably everything should coordinate in some way, with the NICE carpet. That said,,,the carpet need no be the focal point of the room, nor should ANY shades of PURPLE.

HD and Lowes, or any decent paint store, offer hundreds of color choices, as well as pamphlets showing various room settings, decoration ideas, etc.
Reply:Look for ideas on (Pottery Barn) PBteen.com, DIYnetwork.com and HGTV.com-all have great photos and ideas. You can see color combos and such and get ideas how to do things with what you have.We just redid my daughters to a soft aqua pool blue-so we painted her furntiure white and shabby chiced it. She added b/w linens in patterns and b/w photos of her friends and framed posters of Marilyn Monroe,Paris andAudry Hepburn etc-kind of like old hollywood.
Reply:I'm not sure about the furniture part but I think that a lightish/mediumish purple colour would be really nice 4 the walls because i's not to dark but not light so it doesn't blind you. : ]
