(for girls) what type of eye shadow do you wear and what colors do you think are Pretty?

Do you think blue eye shadow is tacky? Does anyone here wear shimery light purple(lilac) shadow? I have light green eyes and i want to know what colors would compliment my eyes?

(for girls) what type of eye shadow do you wear and what colors do you think are Pretty?
That depends on your skin tone. I wear various blues that compliment my skin tone (aquas and turquoise). I love greens and tend to stick to those. A shimmery light brown would probably look nice with your green eyes. Check sephora for some tips.
Reply:Purple. Blue is tacky to me.
Reply:i like to wear light pinks and different shades of brown to accent my eyes, i think blues and some purples look tacky.

i see makeup as something to bring out my facial features not something to paint a new face with. you are what you are and you shouldn't be spending all your time with a mirror trying to get every ones approval - its shallow.
Reply:i love gold and silver but my skin tone is pale and i have blue eyes.
Reply:If your eyes are green purple would compliement them very well. Blue does bring out the green because of the contrast of the colors. Grey, soft browns, and natural tones would also enhances your color. :)

We are getting married on June 30th in Detroit, Michigan and are running low on funds. If anybody has leftover tulle/ or decorations please let me know... maybe I can buy it?!? Our colors are lilac and white (with silver as an accent color).

Just got 3 new rescue Guinea Pigs... help me name them please?

I enjoy suggestions when I get new pigs... please no answers that dont give me suggestions. I am well aware that I can figure out names on my own... I just like to hear from the people out there about it. After having 350+ guinea pigs in the past 17 years (raising, rescuing, and fostering) I get bored thinking up names.

1. American Shorthair - Dilute Rainbow (red, lilac, white w/red eyes) male, 3years old... he is active, talkitive, and very male.

2. American Shorthair\Abby mix - Harliquin (black %26amp; cream marbled) Male 1 year old, wild hair not abbyish just some misplaced colics. Missing most of his toes on front foot. Due to neglect and fighting with another adult male.

3. Abyssinian - Self Red, 1 year old, Female. Not tolerant of other pigs, independant, talkative, hates nails being clipped.

so there they are, they were taken from a apartment where the owners left and didnt take them with. The one male that has missing toes, his partner was dead, and 3 others had died also.

Just got 3 new rescue Guinea Pigs... help me name them please?

Reply:I think that a nice soft lilac would be good. It is always best to wall paper only one wall and make it a feature as if you wall paper every wall, it can make a room shrink and become a little too busy. If you find a nice patterned, textured wall paper, choose your feature wall, and then pain the other 3 walls in a complimentary colour (usually a lighter version). You also won't have over done a fashion trend, but would have used it tastefully and timelesslly. You then have the flexibility to use more patterns in rugs, quilts and cushions without worrying about them clashing with a stack of wall paper.
Reply:lilac would be best compliment to the green %26amp; beige.

Where can I get seeds to grow the Blackie Sweet Potato that will bloom?

In the summer of 2005 I bought a Blackie Sweet Potato in a 4 " pot and found out that as it matured, it bloomed beautiful morning glory looking blooms in a beautiful lilac. I tried to winter over some pieces last winter but they didn't make it. In the summer of 2006 I noticed that I had some Blackie plants coming up "volunteer" so I knew that those blooms must have produced seed. I have one nice plant that I could try to winter over again but I would like to find a place where I could get the seed to plant to make sure that I have Blackies that bloom next year. They are beautiful.

Where can I get seeds to grow the Blackie Sweet Potato that will bloom?
Sweet potato vines actually reproduce via potatoes (rhizomes). If you did not dig up your vine in 2005, then that potato stayed in the ground, overwintered and produced a new vine in 2006. I own a garden center in Arkansas and have several customers every year who dig up their potatoes and store them in a cool, dry place over the winter and then replant them in the spring after the threat of frost has passed. Try digging around after yours dies this year and see if you can find your rhizome(potato) and store it over the winter in your garage or laundry room. GOOD LUCK!

They are annuals that everyone propagates around here...they also come in the wonderful hot lime green....If nothing else, put cuttings in water and watch them take off for the winter indoors...if forsome reason, you don't have any, please let me know as they in four inch pots are in nurseries here year around.....good luck....i love them too and they trail from a basket or cover the ground...

Over two years ago I planted some beautiful purple morning glories. Now they have invaded my garden, bushes...

What can I do to get rid of them? I realize that I tore the vines down too late %26amp; the seed pods broke %26amp; "re-planted" seeds everywhere. Each summer as the plants started to emerge I'd pluck them as fast as I could, but there was just too many! I don't want this problem next year. They grew over my lilac bush, my tomato plants , other flowers.....

Over two years ago I planted some beautiful purple morning glories. Now they have invaded my garden, bushes...
get some preen and follow the directions on the label...preen prevents seeds from germinating so dont use it near where you want seeds to sprout..make sure you put it down early in the growing season for best results

it will not work on seeds that have already begun to germinate..only on the ones that haven't so dont be surprised if a few here and here still pop up

also you can spread black plastic and anchor it with rocks, mulch or anything to keep the plastic in place and in the summer when the temps get high and the sun beats down on the plastic that will kill the seeds but preen is your best bet from my own personal experience
Reply:As you know they can be quite the problem the best thing I know is to pull, pull, pull all the new shoots and plants as they come up and don't let them reseed again you will get them all in time this next season if you pull them before they produce the seeds.

Do you enjoy catching the slight scent of White Shoulders perfume on a woman, in public?

I really want to know if more people don't, or more people do enjoy the scent of White Shoulders. But I want hard evidence. Please do not answer, "I think most people..."

"Best Answer" will go to whoever collects the actual opinions of a few people, and posts their results. Do people like some perfume, but not White Shoulders? No perfume? Like some, and that one? Especially like White Shoulders?

I do not want responses about issues I am not asking about. Please do not talk about how much perfume a woman should wear. Assume we are talking about a very mild application, such that you couldn't smell it at all more than two feet away. And I don't want to hear about allergies, either. One of the reasons for asking about White Shoulders is because it seems to be one of the least allergenic perfumes. For those who aren't familiar, it is considered a classic floral, and includes gardenia, lilac, amber, oakmoss, and jasmine in its scent.

.

Do you enjoy catching the slight scent of White Shoulders perfume on a woman, in public?
I asked the people in my office and 1 person likes White Shoulders, 2 don't and 3 don't know or can't remember what it smells like.

Of those same people, four like to smell a little bit of perfume or cologne, 1 said it doesn't matter and 1 doesn't like to smell perfume at all.

Is that what you were looking for?
Reply:I don't enjoy white shoulders personally for myself. There are alot of older women love it, so it's often associated with them. Also, there are so many perfumes on the market. It's probably overlooked, but there are those perfumes like it that have a steady fan base.
Reply:i love white shoulders. i have had people to stop me in public and ask what scent i am wearing. men and women, different strokes for different folks!!.
Reply:I'm a female and I really don't care to smell White Shoulders,it doesn't catch my attention at all.I prefer to smell a man with Cool Waters for men.Now that is nice...
Reply:I had one of the best summers of my life wearing "White Shoulders". Thanks for reminding me, will try it again....

What duvet cover would go best?

i just repainted my room a nice soft light pink, and now i want new ed sheets to match, but i dont want you to walk in the room and see only pink. so i decided i would want lilac bedsheets (to me, pink and light purple go good together) but i am having trouble choosing a duvet cover. which would go best with everything?

http://ww1.pbteen.com/cat/index.cfm?cid=...

choose one. thanks for your help!

What duvet cover would go best?
I like the "Posey Print" and the "Spence". And either one, they are on sale!!!
Reply:I like the pink parisian paisley or the pixel paisley....
Reply:You've chosen a warm color for your walls and a cooler shade for your bed... I would suggest either a neutral color (like the "stone"), a dusky grey that suits the tones of your colors or the "Jolie Fleur Stripe Duvet Cover %26amp; Sham" which has a nice mix of cools and neutrals together.

Happy redecorating!

Can my cat still be a purebred "Snowshoe" if he has black paws?

My cat, Corwin (Prince Corwin of Amber) is a cross between a Lilac Point Himalayan and a Siamese. He has lovely markings, with a black nose, cornflower blue eyes, black ears, tawny and gray (blue) fur, a blue tail and black paws. My sister, who is a cat breeder, says he is purebred "Snowshoe," a breed just recently recognized. But the Cat Fancy web site says snowshoes have white paws. His sister from the same litter has white paws. Are either of them purebreds? Not that it matters. Corwin is a wonderful cat. I just want to know if he's really a "Snowshoe" or just a "Himmie-cross."

Can my cat still be a purebred "Snowshoe" if he has black paws?
Your cat sounds beautiful! He does sound like a "Hymie-Cross" and he should have a great personality. Enjoy your precious furry friend.
Reply:I bet he is enjoy him. Cats are very intelligent, I have Hymilayan she is beautiful and has a great personality. She is very smart to! They are great pets do enjoy! Report It

Reply:one science word for you : GENETICS if you have white skin but both your parents are latino, are you not pure-bred?
Reply:I'm guessing that the term snowshoe means white paws. I just looked it up and it states that the snowshow breed is a cross between Siamese and a bi colored domestic short hair. If your cat is part siamese and part Himalayan, he is a mixed cat since neither of those are the snowshoe breed.
Reply:He's a Himalayan cross, snowshoes ALWAYS have white paws, that's why they're called snowshoes. And they've been around for years too. Your sister needs to do more homework on her cat breeds.
Reply:Its just a himmy cross.

I used to breed/show cats, and snow shoes was one of my breeds.

they are called snowshoe because of there white feet. Without the white feet they arent a snowshoe.

A purebred is a cat that has purebred parents with registration papers..

purebreds are pure to there bloodlines .

With one parent being a himmy and the other parent being a siamese - they are a mix - like himmy creoss or siameses cross

Where can I find essential oils?

I don't mean online, but what stores sell them? I'm looking for lilac, if it helps.

Where can I find essential oils?
You can most likely get some basic essential oils at a health food store. Something as special as Lilac, you'll have to search around for and most likely will need to buy it online. Maybe a store manager could order from their essential oil supplier for you. A note on Lilac...There are solvent extracts and concretes of Lilac produced, these have very little 'true to nature' odor. They generally smell nothing like Lilac. Synthetics are more likely to give you the 'Lilac smell'. You may be able to find some Enfleurage of Lilac. Good Luck.
Reply:Health stores, health-food stores and some beauty supply stores carry them.

HELP...i need bridesmaid dresses?

i need 2 lavender or lilac and 2 champagne sizes 8-24 got any advice??? ive spent the last 3 hours trying to find the same styles in the two colors and so far no luck...i also need them to be with a think strap and floor length. and they have to be reasonably priced...any info would be greatly appriciated....

HELP...i need bridesmaid dresses?
David's Bridal has a wide variety of dresses both in separates as well as one piece dresses and is a good store to look at.

I would also look at Alfred Angelo @ www.alfredangelo.com I know for a fact that they have all sizes, will not charge extra for color changes, size differences and any dress they have in any of there catalogs and stores they can get in almost any color and size and will do so without hassle. I also know that they have a wide variety of bridesmaids dresses and they will put it in whatever color you need and they do have both lavender and champagne colors available. I got my wedding dress there and needed a larger size and will be getting my bridesmaids dresses there as well. I highly recommend the store and website.

Good Luck!!! I hope this was helpful!!!
Reply:If you know of a good seamstress, and have a good fabric store nearby, you may want to look for a pattern. If one style would look good on one of your bridesmaids, but the same style wouldn't look good on another one, think about using the same fabric, but a different style of dress. You will still have the same fabric and color to tie everything together and everyone will still look awesome! Congratulations!

What colour and decor should i have?

We are just moving house and i have been given the smallest bedroom. What colours and decor do u think i should go for that would open the room and make it seem bigger?

I was going to go for a very pale lilac colour and get a mink canvass wardrobe ( in argos ) and a pair of cream tab top curtains with a blind.

What colour and decor should i have?
chocolate and cream with pink fluffy bed cushions

note: those canvas wardrobes are rubbish, they fall to bits and break easily..
Reply:Get a nice big mirror or two as well, that will reflect more light into the room and make it seem more spacious...
Reply:you're on the right track. paint it in a soft color of lilac. light colors tend to make a room look and appear bigger. and light colors also reflects lights so it would make ur room cheery, relaxing, and well lighted.
Reply:Always thought that pale colours made a room look bigger but I've painted our box bedroom (it's tiny) in a dark colour and surprisingly it looks bigger than when it was cream although I have stuck with plain curtains and a subtle patterned duvet etc! A big mirror at the end of the room can help and nothing too dark on the windows, to let the sun in. I quite like your ideas though, I love lilac, my daughter has a similar theme as you mentioned in her home in her bedroom and it looks gorgeous and so relaxing too!!
Reply:duck egg blue and chocolate work great together
Reply:IF YOUR ROOM HAS WINDOWS DEN go 4 some bold or bright colours 2 liven things up!!

IF THERE ISN'T ANY WINDOWS DEN u shld tone down the colours sumtink light but not pale or boring .... not neccescarily white though...

also, u cld use mirrors it opens up the area...

abt the furnitures dun use anythin which takes up alot of space..sumtink simple yet modern!!! 2 give u the sophisticated finishing touch...
Reply:a light color paint makes the room feel bigger
Reply:I'd go for a cream blackout roller blind, Black crome coloured or gold metal curtain pole, Lilac curtains with tie backs they look great tied back with tie backs (and i know where there is a curtain pole and curtains that will look really nice and won't cost you anything).

Cream carpet / wooden flooring maybe.

Lilac and pink bedding

Fluffy pink cushions

Pink fur throw over for your bed

A nice big mirror on the wall opposite your window will make your room lighter.

Lilac coloured light shade

Put some fairy lights up above your bed.

Buy yourself a nice vase put it in the middle of your window sill make an effort to buy yourself fresh pink/lilac flowers every week will make you feel good.

Do i get best answer!!!

Look in argos buy yourself to standing lamps from floor upwards black or silver £10 for 2 from argos will look really nice. Invest in an oil burner and start relaxing.

New houses are soooo exciting.

Good luck best of all keep small rooms tidy or you lose space. :-) :-)
Reply:When I still lived with my parents I always had he small room, and light colours definitely give the room a bigger feel. I painted my walls white with a hint of blue.

Canvas wardrobes aren't great I'm afraid. We had one for about 2 years (from Argos) and a few weeks ago it just collapsed. You can sometimes find short single wardrobes - which are about 5 feet tall, and you can use the top as a sort of shelf. I used to have one, and I used to keep all my candles and incense etc. on top of it (all that stuff was all the rage back then!).

Good luck with your new room - have fun decorating it!

I have a shar pei girl aged 9 weeks - I need some advice on colouring if possible?

I have a beautiful shar pei girl aged just 9 weeks old but I am not sure if she will be an apricot dilute or not as she has a mixture of characteristics. At the moment she has a black nose yet her tongue is pink and lilac, her toenails are apricot and her eyes are olive. If you know about shar-pei this will make sense but if you dont know the breed it may seem a bit strange so I apologise to all non shar pei owners in advance. I guess I am trying to establish whether -

a) her nose and tongue may turn pink making her a dilute

b) whether her eyes, tongue and nails may go dark making her a fawn.

c) she will not change now and be disqualified from showing as she doesn't conform to breed standard.

I love her to bits so it doesn't matter what the result is I am just curious and you know what they say "if you don't ask you will never know".....

Thank you in anticipation

Glyn

I have a shar pei girl aged 9 weeks - I need some advice on colouring if possible?
on my understanding of the breed-i read breed specialist books on them and asked questions about them to established show breeders-the tongue, roof of mouth, gums and lips, should be solid blue-black. a solid pink tongue is undesirable. dogs with self-coloured pigment and amber or light brown eyes would be expected to have a solid lavender tongue, nose is preferably black but any colour conforming to general coat colour permissible. eyes dark, but amber and lighter colours are permissible in paler shades. it does sound like she has what is termed a 'flowered' tongue but if she has a black nose her mouth and tongue pigment should be black also, so it sounds like she will be 'C' on your question.
Reply:I'm sorry but i have never heard of that breed. !! sounds beautiful. good luck with her and hope you get the advice you need.
Reply:I have a 14week Shar Pei X golden retriever i got him at 5weeks and his tongue was pink with blue patches, now its fully blue so they do change colour. They are just the cutest dogs ever :o)
Reply:goood luck gal
Reply:The nose will not change from black to pink, i dont think that many things will change re colourings at this point. The most change occurs when they are less than 3 weeks old.

how are her eyes? our lilac had no end of problems with entopia !!
Reply:Hi there - bet she is gorgeous!

Her colouring is not breed standard and she won't change now that she is this age. The colouring of everything except eyes is pretty much clear from early days. The eye colour comes through by 5-6 weeks.
Reply:If you bought the animal from a REPUTABLE BREEDER,the color will listed on the registration papers!

If you DIDN'T...it's just junk %26amp; color is the least of it's problems.

Botany help?

Please help me answer the following questions for my project because i don't get a thing!!! I think I know some of the answers, but I;m not sure in them...

1. How would it help a seed get distributed if it is inside a sweet fruit?

2. Where is the seed on a cone?

3. What features of a seed designed to be distributed by the wind make it easier to be blown by the wind?

4. What might be the purpose of a seed that has a hard coating? (would it be to protect it?)

5.Why do burrs have little hooks that stick onto your clothing?

6. Where are the spores located on the fern?

7.Is the bulb actually a root or is it part of the plant's stem?

8. Why is a poppy so colourful?

9. Why is a lilac so fragrant?

10.What would be the advantage of a plant that has a long single tap root?

11. What would be the advantage of a plant that has a branching, spreading root? (like lettuce, tomato)

Botany help?
Question 1. Fleshy fruits are thought to be a feature of dispersal. There can be an attraction to a co-evolved organism. Some fleshy fruits have been adapted for commerce such as the apple (fleshy stem adaptation) or figs for example.

Question 2. The seed in a cone such as that of the pine is located at the base of each scale. In most species the cone will open fully in response to intense heat such as from a fire. The seeds are then distributed onto essentially sterilized soil, or an area where competitive seedlings have been burned away.

Question 3. Wind blown seeds usually have a membranous attachment that allows them to re-mail aloft in a breeze or wind, long enough to be carried away from the source.

Question 4. The hard coat is resistant to a harsh environment. The seed will germinate with the intake of moisture. The chaparral of the Mediterranean climates, such as southern California, will germinate after exposure to heat. Scarification, or penetration of the hard coat with a knife, will initiate germination. Sometimes passing through the intestine of an animal that has consumed the fruit will do the trick.

Question 5. As in question 1, the burr is a feature that has developed for the seed distribution in its habitat.

Question 6. The spores are produced in sporangia in ferns. These are clustered in groups called sori or a soridium.

Question 7. The bulb is a specialized storage organ usually found underground. It can derive from the base of leaves such as in an onion or from the stem.

Question 8. Again, the color of flowers is often an aid in seed dispersal. Colors also attract pollinators.

Question 9. And again, fragrance is associated with pollination and seed dispersal, depending of the plants and its animal partners.

Question 10. The taproot increases the ability of a plant to absorb nutrients from the soil. Soil layers can be of varying depth, each containing a different mix of compounds. The carrot is an example of a tap root species. The pine tree has a very long tap root.

Question 11. Tropical trees tend to have a root system that spreads horizontally to gain contact with a fertile upper of soil characteristic of tropical regions. Some plants like the Sequoia or the creosote bush in the desert are long lived and reproduce by cloning, that is plants that sprout from the near-surface system at a distance from the parent, rather than depending on seeds alone. This system could allow the plant to better with drought or other environmental conditions that are not favorable to seed production. Also the cloned plant is genetically similar to the parent tree, much more so than a plant that develops from a seed.
Reply:1) An animal eats the fruit and then the seeds are left somewhere else in its droppings.

2) Inside the plates. Extreme heat causes them to open up which is why some fires are necessary.

3) Having fins like the Maple seed.

4) Yes a hard coating would be to protect it if it were eaten or had to travel a long way sop it would remain viable.

5) So that animals and birds can pick them up and deposit them somewhere else.

6) Underside of the leaf

7) The stem and the root both come from the bulb so I am not sure.

8) To attract pollinators

9) To attract pollinators

10) Not sure.

11) To be able to get more nutrients from different parts of the soil.
Reply:1. if the fruit is sweet, the animals eat it. when they throw the seed away, it gives rise to new plant.

2,

3.the seed which is blown by the wind has wings as in seeds of samara and double samaa fruots. some times, the seed has a hairy pappus as in asteracea members for their easy dispersal. the seeds are light.

4.if the seed has hard coating, 1. the animals can not eat it and they throw it out.

2, if it is ingested, it doesnot get digested and they are dispersed by animals and birds as in case of neem seeds by birds.

5.the hook like things on the burrs, enable them to attach to our clothes and animal hairs and furs, so that they are carried away to various places and help in dispersal.

6.spores are present on the back of the leaf in ferms.

7.bulb is not a root but a part of its stem.

8. poppy is so colourful to attract insect pollinators.

9. lilacs are fragrant as their fragrance attracts insects.

10.the single long tuberous root anables the plant to grow deep into the soil and helps it in having better fixation and to get good amount of minerals and capillary water.

11. the branching and spreading root helps in increasing the support and absorptio nof capillary water and minerals more efficiently.
Reply:the answers above are pretty good, but i would add that a tap root is useful if a plant grows in desert conditions as it can grow down to a great depth to seek out water; cacti and succulents tend to have tap roots. tap roots also anchor the plant better than a shallow root system in sandy, loose soil.

technically, the bulb is part of the plant's stem although it is hidden underground. if you disect a bulb you'll see it has more similarity to stem than root. it's basically a stem modified to store water and starch.

Any one got any decorating idea for a cinderella themed wedding and/or reception?

I'm getting married in September. My colors are lilac and yellow and the theme is cinderella cuz I've loved the story since I was a child and mine and my fiance's story is truly a fairy tale come true and he is my prince charming. I've already decided about the party favors for the reception and all the accessories, but I need some more ideas about decorating the reception hall and the wedding venue. Websites or pics would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Reply:Okay here it gose: The wedding cake should be topped with a groom placing a slipper on the bride or just a slipper itself! Use the color of yellow and lilac to place on small pumkins carragies to place on the tables.

Painting Walls a much lighter/duller color, Do I need to use a primer first?

The walls in my room are bright lilac/purple. There are also streaks of a different shade of purple where the old owner tried to do a touch-up but used the wrong color purple. I am painting it a sandy beige. Do i need to prime first?

Painting Walls a much lighter/duller color, Do I need to use a primer first?
Two answers, yes and no!

what quality paint are you using? some better quality paints can "hide" a previous color in one coat.

Using the primer would be your best bet if you are doing a radical color change, especially if you don't want to take a chance of having to do it twice.

Make sure you prepare the surface to be painted, clean the wall with a mixture of trisodium phosphate (TSP) and water. Put the solution on going from the floor to the ceiling and wash it off with clean water for the ceiling to the floor so you make sure you get all the residue off (wear gloves-as this is a chemical solution and can burn unprotected skin)
Reply:Do you know what "kind" of paint is on the wall "Latex or oil"? Is the wall paint shiny or semi shiny(semigloss)?

First, if the walls are dirty - wash them with TSP and water. That will take off the body oils(from your hands)and any other oils. You don't want that on the wall.

When the washing is done and the walls are dry....it needs a sanding with 120-150 g sandpaper.....moreso if the walls are semigloss or gloss. You want to get the flat(no shine look)-or at least alot of sandpaper scratches for best mechanical adhesion possible.(Think of paint like a person climbing a rock face. If the rock face is perfectly smooth there is no place for him(the paint) to grab onto or get his climbing hook into. By sanding the hard surface (old paint)you are making grooves or cracks on the smooth surface that the mountain climbing paint can fill in and grab ahold of. This applies for primer as well as any other paint.

Primer will hang on better to a shiny surface than will the wall paint. It is also the go-between when you don't know the "kind of paint" is on the surface.

Latex sticks to latex and oil based to oil based is a rule of thumb. Primer sticks to both, so when you don't know, prime. Latex primer is for drywall and plaster. Alkyd primer is for wood casings moreso(especially if wood shows under flaking paint.

Primer is also used when the subsurface condition is not perfect(paint has flaked away or has oxidized(like on older outside wood that leaves a chalky residue on your finger as you rub the surface).

Alykd Primer should get a dash 1/2 cup to a gallon paint thinner to thin it out a bit(which makes it climbing hooks that much sharper) and the paint drys faster and harder than straight out of the can. Give 24 hrs to dry. Sand smooth with a light touch followed by the other hand to feel how smooth. Should feel like velvet.

Because of the color extremes, you will have to put on 2 coats of color over the purple. The first coat, you can thin out some 3/4 cup to a gallon of paint without hurting the covering ability of the paint. If you paint the room early in the morn and you have a hot day, perhaps you can put the second coat on later after supper. Otherwise wait a day and put on a closer to undiluted second coat.

Depending how much you paid for the paint(cheap paint give crappy coverage) you may even have to put on a 3rd coat.(another day of drying). In the end, you will be happy with the job.

Do do the brushwork first.
Reply:Some colors cover better than others, beige being on of them. If you use a high quality paint you could finish with two coats of paint only. Buy a gallon of your new color and brush some on the wall to test. Stain blocking primers (water based) tinted to the new wall color would be my recommendation if you were doing the reverse color scheme.

Glass perfume viles?

I just got little perfume viles. They are glass and painted @ the tips different colors. They have individual names on them like "Consent" and "White Lilac". Oh, and in order to get the perfume out you have to break them somehow. The lady i got them from @ a yard sale said they were her grandmothers. Anyone have any information on this.

Glass perfume viles?
Sounds like you might have perfume ampoule's.

If it is an ampoule,

Quote:

"Modern ampoules are most commonly used to contain pharmaceutical hypodermic solutions or high purity chemicals that must be protected from air. They are hermetically sealed by melting the thin top with an open flame, and are designed with a (1) scoring around the neck (2) break ring around the neck or (3) a small cut on the neck. When pressure is applied, the top will break off and the medicine can be reached.

After opening the ampoule, the solution is filtered to remove any glass fragments which may have fallen in the solution when the ampoule was opened."

So basically you want to just crack it at the neck, they are designed to break evenly and neatly (without shattering)

Hope this helps!

What kind of siamese cat is the most expensive?
there are different kinds of siamese?
Reply:I know that the seal point is the most common, then there is the blue; after that the point types become rarer. I'm not sure about the pricing on the different point types, but I do know that an apple head is less expensive than a wedge head.
Reply:The colourings don't necessarily influence cost. Kittens with champion parents (GC %26amp; DM), strong bloodlines, and top showing potential would probably the most expensive - regardless of colour. http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/si...

Please give direction through the dream?
Im no expert on dreams however, a lot of things are dreamed about from what you are thinking just before you fall asleep (rem stage).

if you dream in Technicolor, the one outstanding thing that this presages is that you will have increasing security and prosperity in your business affairs, if the rest of the symbols point to a bad time for you and your affairs, the dream in color shows that you will have help behind the scenes that will enable you to master your problems. Dreams that involve people who are of a different color then you are, (natural colors), usually points to good luck in money or business. What is a Hummingbird Moth ?

I thought I saw a small hummingbird in my lilac bush, someone said it is a hummingbird moth. I never heard of a hummingbird moth.

What is a Hummingbird Moth ?

Hummingbird Moths - Sphinx or Hawk Moths

1. White-lined Sphinx Hummingbird Moths

I have featured three types of hummingbird moths from my backyard. These moths are often mistaken for hummingbirds. Click on the images to learn more about these interesting moths.

Jump to specific information

1. How to Rear These Moths

2. Help for Identifying Moths

Hummingbirds do not have striped backs. They do not usually appear to be brown. They will not let you approach them to get a closer look. If you believe you saw a brown, striped hummingbird, you probably saw the perfect hummingbird look-a-like. Hummingbird moths have disappointed many people who believed that they were seeing their first hummingbird.

Although you may have to wait longer to see a hummingbird, hummingbird moths are very interesting in their own right. Unlike most moths, they will fly during daylight. You can see many of them at any time of day but evening is the most productive time to watch for hummingbird moths.

2. Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moths

The Snowberry Clearwing is very similar to other larger clearwing hummingbird moths. The Snowberry is small and resembles a bumblebee more than a hummingbird but the larger clearwing moths look so much like a hummingbird that it can take a second look for an experienced bird watcher.

3. Tersa Sphinx Hummingbird Moths

These moths were found and reared in Travis County in Austin, Texas. There are more hummingbird moth species than the three featured here.

Get a certificate for free caterpillars when you purchase a Butterfly Habitat

Look inside these individual pages to see the caterpillars, pupa and eggs of these fascinating moths. The female will deposit eggs on the appropriate leaves to feed the larval stage caterpillar. It is possible to collect these eggs, rear the caterpillars, protect the pupa and watch new hummingbird moths emerge. All this usually takes only a few weeks.

If these caterpillars are destroying your beautiful garden, I recommend collecting the caterpillars. Place them in an appropriate container where you can selectively supply them with leaves from their favorite plant. I usually go purchase a few of the exact same plant to feed the caterpillars. That way I do not have to defoliate my garden.

--------------------------------------...

How to rear these hummingbird moth caterpillars:

don't keep them in a cold room or too cool a house - use the porch

you will need to feed them from whatever larval plant you find them on

any container will do but I like a transparent container

you probably don't need a screen or ventilated lid until they pupate and you only need a lid if you want a chance to see the emerging moths before they fly away

add leaves from larval plant daily for the caterpillars

remove spent leaves or withered ones and keep fresh ones available

damp paper towels will provide moisture - keep them moist - remove them when they become soiled

clean away waste daily - these caterpillars produce a lot of waste (called frass)

once they are maturing, add several inches of dirt to container

these caterpillars pupate underground

obviously, stop adding leaves once they dig in

check the box daily but don't expect moths for two weeks or so

After releasing them, my moths have usually not flown away for 12 hours or so but the time can vary. I take a few photographs and then let the moths crawl out of the container and onto the leaves of their larval plants.

Teen's Room ?

I am planning on painting my room. Right now its bright orange. What colour should i paint it ? I dont want a dark colour. I love light colours and i really love fashion, makeup, swimming, badminton. sleepovers, shopping, sports, music, dancing and cheerleading. You could say i love to do both girl %26amp; guy's stuff. So what colour should i paint my room. I love cheerful colours like pink, blue and green or lilac

Teen's Room ?
I would go for a lime green %26amp; pink wall colours. You may stripe it or choose to paint the walls alternating between these 2 colours.

There are nice wallpapers with such colours as well from Goodrich Coverings.

Use whites %26amp; woods for furniture %26amp; accessorise with groovy girly stuff.

Leave a little cozy corner with rugs %26amp; cushions for sleepovers %26amp; experimental hair %26amp; makeup can be performed. :)
Reply:you can do yellow. i bet it would still match your whole room because its not the bigggest change from orange.
Reply:poka dots!!!! like a bunch of different colors!
Reply:How about painting 2 walls in a beautiful pink and two walls in a lime green colour? My favourite colour right now is that beautiful blue (some people call it duck egg, others call it robins egg and I have also heard it called Tiffany blue) it works well with rich creamy colours and mocha, like a milky coffee colour, that looks like a nice sophisticated colour scheme for a teen
Reply:u could do it in bright red or sea blue... both r significatly good for the eyes
Reply:I would go for a sea blue...with maybe a few stars on the wall in dark blue in random places or even turquoise.
Reply:paint it mint green or purple!!! :)

What colour?

I am decorateing my bedroom and i cant decide what colour goes with lilac. Any suggestions greatly recieved. Thanks

What colour?
a light green or an off white, some light blues, a light yellow...basically any light color(except orange and brown and black and colors like that)
Reply:It would need to be a 'pastel' shade so that the lilac won't be swamped. Light green would be best I think, or if you like maybe pink or blue. I'd definitely avoid yellowy or orangey colours though - they'd clash too much with the lilac. A few touches of bright red would add some nice sparkle as well. Good luck !
Reply:My ex-partner was Lilac mad and she decorated our bathroom in Lilac with a Silver frieze bordering the walls and Chrome and Silver coloured fittings, she also used an Azure (silver-grey) cushion floor lino. This was really smart.
Reply:Cream, white, sage green, mint green, pale yellow (for contrast), deep purple, or a mocha color (light brown/taupe).
Reply:How about a light gold?

It would make the room seem really scumpious and luxrious.

Imagine a brass bed with elegant fabrics like purple velvet scatter cushions and a brown faux fur throw spread over your gold satin duvet cover.

On the window - gold organza voile panels with brass curtain pole and fancy hold backs.

You could even have a Chandelier hanging over your bed.

Oh and lots of candles and table lamps, it would very cosy and romantic.

Maybe a fur rug and some kind of fabric hanging behind the bed.

I could go on and on...

Reply:I have a spare room in my house that is lilac and grey.
Reply:Lighter or darker? White with a hint of lilac, creamy colours, very pale blue, purple will all go. Buy some tester pots if you can't decide and place them next to your primary colour, then choose the one you like best.
Reply:gray
Reply:Sage or mint greens, cream and white, certain shades of blue...since you did not say what in the room is already lilac, it would be hard to suggest other colors or combo's..but if say the walls are lilac...anything with the green/white/blue/lilac combo would be nice...remember though..less is more when decorating..and don't buy EVERYTHING to match...mix it up a little (stripes with plaids or floral prints...things like that)...you want the room to relfect YOU...not the manufacturer of whatever you purchase....
Reply:Bedroom is the coziest place, where a person can shut the door to the outside world and just be himself. A bedroom is infact a reflection of your personality. When you enter into someone's bedroom, the way it is kept and the basic styling and designing of that room tells a lot about that person. Bedroom is usually the first place that we see in the morning. Thus, decoration of bedroom becomes important, as it helps to revitalize your energy.

When it comes to bedroom décor, the first thing that strikes the mind is undoubtedly the bedroom wall color. In this article, we will provide you with some ideas on choosing bed room interior wall paint that can give warmth and mood enhancing look to your bedroom. But, while beautifying your room, make sure that the kind of atmosphere you create in your bedroom should be comforting and harmonious.

Wall Colour Tips For Bedroom

* While deciding on the bedroom color scheme, select the colors that make you feel serene and calm.

* If you are peace-loving kinds and appreciate sobriety, then you can go in for quiet muted colors. These colors are soothing and create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation.

* In the category of cool hues, there are number of options available to you. However, colors like blue, green and lavender are the best for bedrooms.

* The main advantage of painting walls with cool colors is that it makes the room look slightly bigger. Also, the bedroom appears to be more airy.

* However, if you want to lend some youthful touch to your bedroom, then you can choose to go in for some warm colors. When used properly, even warm hues can create a peaceful environment. The apt colors would be misty peach, delicate pink and buttery yellow. You can opt for other colors also, but select the lighter shades like pastels instead of deep shades.

* If you are fond of lively atmosphere but at the same time, like sobriety also, then the perfect choice for you is a neutral shade that offers a lot of flexibility and usually goes with any kind of interiors. With neutral colors, you can keep trying innovative ideas regarding bedding, artwork etc, to give your bedroom a new fresh look.

Bedroom Ceiling Color

When it comes to decorating bedroom, how can we forget the bedroom ceiling color. To give your bedroom a complete look, it is important to beautify the ceiling. When your room looks pleasing, it also gives happiness to you. Infact, it is the ceiling of our bedroom that we tend to see more often as compared to other rooms. Read on to check out some ideas on choosing bed room ceiling paint.

Ceiling Colour Tips For Bedroom

* If you want to give tranquil look to your bedroom, then choose a subtle tint of the wall color for the ceiling.

* To make bedroom with low ceiling look more spacious, pick a shade lighter than your wall paint. In case of bedroom with high ceiling, choose a shade that is darker than your wall color, as it will make the room appear warmer and more intimate.

* People usually go in for white ceilings, but why not have a break from the conventional designing and try out something new.

* If you want to be different, then you can go in for a ceiling color that is in contrast with the wall color like the combination of light pink ceiling and mauve wall color.

* If you like fresh look, but not with too much creativity, then you should go in for monochromatic theme. For the harmonious look, choose a ceiling color, which is two or three tones lighter than the color of your bedroom walls.
Reply:Deep purple, rich and sumptuous. Plumy reds, maroons and rich chocolate browns.
Reply:for interest why not have a contrast.like 2 shades of lilac, one deeper than the other.
Reply:light mint or cream
Reply:Cream / Pink / Light Blue
Reply:I like to mix lilac with sage green, they're both calming color and they work well in a bedroom. Try different tones of green with samples and choose the one that you love.

Evergreen shrub?
Do you remember the name of it? It kinda sounds like it might be a Buddleia. Are the leaves long and thin, kinda like a willow?

Eyeshadow colourss for my eyes and skin?

I have really pale skin and dark green eyes...Usually hazel, and i have circles under my eyes (theyre inherited but i still use a bit of concealer over it)..anyway....ive been trying to find the right eyeshadow colour to bring out the green in my eyes. Ive used green which does bring the green in my eyes out a bit, Ive tried a light brown aswell but it gets boring. I want something different, and please dont suggest a lilac or purple to bring out the green because ive tried it and it looks awful as it just makes me look like ive been beaten up or something! Thaanks (: x

Eyeshadow colourss for my eyes and skin?
I have the EXACT same problem as you, here's what I do:

Use a creamy eyeshadow on the lid, in a shade just a bit darker than your skin. It's best to use a light, shimmery coral or pink color, depending on your skin tone - w/ gold tones, you should use coral, w/ pink or yellow tones, use pink. Then line the crease with a dark brown. Be careful not to put too much on the brush at once, as this will result in caking. Use a small, square brush or a brush with an angled tip.

Right above the crease, use any shade that's darker than your skin but lighter than the brown you used on the crease of your eye. Nothing too dramatic, please!... but experiment with different shades of lilac, pink, gold, whatever looks best with your eyes, skin, and hair. A larger brush is best for this, and you should use small strokes going up and out from the inner lid. Blend upwards with your fingertips to avoid a harsh line.

Next, take a flat porcelain shade (that means no glitter!) and apply it just under your brows. If your eyebrows are thick, groom them. If they are thin, pencil them in, then use a foam applicator to smooth away any harsh lines.

If you aren't good with eyeliner, skip this step: take a chocolate brown or chestnut pencil liner, and draw along the outer edges of your eyes, top and bottom. The line should be thicker on the top lid. Smudge with an angled eyeliner brush or a q-tip.

Use dark brown volumizing mascara - never black, since you have pale skin - and keep the rest of your makeup simple, so the focus is on your eyes. Shimmery, natural lips go great with this look.

Hope this helps!

Reply:Truly in my opnion if your really pale then id go for a very suttle natrual tone shadow and maybe apply some heavier mascara and maybe line the top of your lids rather than the inside and give your eyes a bit of a smoky appeal.. BTW im sure your eyes are ALOT more apparent than you think. Good luck and im sorry if this didnt give ya some help
Reply:I've got green eyes and light skin although i've got fair hair. I use Gentle blues and soft pinks depending on what im wearing but i swear by white base coat with grey on th crease and gently flicked up the side blend it up for a shadowed look.
Reply:try a sliver or a white

or maybe a pale pink

the colours will clash beautifully making your eyes stand out

just experiment with them colours abit

and good luck

Do you like this poem?

I take a road to a deserted place,

Where lilac felt a lover’s grace.

I see a pine that snowflakes race,

Drip by names that walked these ways.

Now blooms as white the winter howl,

By rusted bench with shivered soul.

A whisper weaved, her warming rays,

“Walk my valley, these lonely days”

What can I do to create a chalk effect when painting my walls.?

Im going to paint my wall light purple/lilac and want to create a chalk like effect, then I am going to paint a pattern at the top of the wall to almost make it look like painted on wall paper? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks./

What can I do to create a chalk effect when painting my walls.?
Sponge with two different, but close shades of lilac
Reply:two shades of pant one lighter and one darker to your wall color to give it dimension... try a very dry brush and a very light hand.... so the look is more wispy and will not look to heavy....
Reply:Get a sea sponge in the paint department of a home improvement store. Then use that to dab on a faux glaze. The faux glaze is opaque, but it allows the base color to come through, only lighter. The effect is almost like a crushed velvet texture. But, it may look like a chalk effect, depending on what you're going for.

Try it on a piece of wood first and see if that's the look you're going for.
Reply:You can apply it with a sponge or better still muslin.

Present for boyfriend- want to get a plant or tree, but don't know where to start!?

I need to get a present for my boyfirend, our 2 year aniversery is tomorrow! I put it off because I has finals and couldn't think of anything nice to get him.

I am thinking about getting something to plant at his house so we can watch it grow, maybe get some pretty stone to mark it with. I know its cheesy, but I want something sweet that he wouldn't just buy on his own. We plan to build a new house together there, so it might be cool to have something to look back on.

Anyways, I just don't know what to get. I think I am in zone 5 (Western MA). Is there anything hardy I could get that would look nice? He has plants in his yard (lots of lilac and forsythia), and lives on the edge of a forest. There sin't a ton of room, so it can't grow too big. I'm not expecting anything too spectacular, but I don't really want it to blend right in,

Any suggestions?

Present for boyfriend- want to get a plant or tree, but don't know where to start!?
What about a dogwood tree? They are beautiful trees and look great in woodland settings. They are covered in blooms in the spring and in the fall the leaves turn red and have berries.
Reply:I would suggest a poplar cherry(Prunus amanagowa). This is an upright tree, grows tall and slender and carries attractive pink flowers in Spring.

I've a clematis montana alba growing up mine, this is a self supporting climber which has white flowers and follows on when the tree blossom fades.

Mature diameter of the tree would be app;2 metres, height around 10-12 metres. Both perfectly hardy and last for years.
Reply:you can add a little poem with it something like "

our relationship is as beautiful as this plant

with tender pruning to keep its shape

as we've been doing since our first date

Together we will watch it grow

remember our my love as you well know.

Just thought that off the top of my head I'm sure you could come up with something much more creative, if not you can go on poem.com to get a good one ....good luck
Reply:i would do a search online for the meanings of flowers and/or what colors mean what- start there and pick one that means something to both of you.

examples- a yellow rose i think is good for friendship. here is a site that you could start with- some plants have a lot of history behind them as well as meaning.

Reply:A few ideas.

Cherrys like Nanking, bloom in the spring, and produce edible cherries. The don't grow very big, look nice year round, and are not very picky on where they grow.

Mountain Ash. Cool bark colour, cool leaf shapes, not very showey flowers, but the berries are an orngey red to deep red and attract birds. They can grow bigger but not to bad. The berries are poinsous to us so don't eat them.

Roses of course are very pretty. They can look good year round. And can be found in lots of differen colours and types.

Crab apple trees or flowering crabs look pretty when they bloom and the crab apples are edible off the tree, made into applesauce, juice, wine etc.

Saskatoons. A very ummy berry. Has white flowers in the summer, a dark purple fruit in Later august and early sept. Bird love them as well and you will be fighting to pick any once they know where they are. We ahve to keep ours under a net.

Flowering plums are nice. Though if you want any fruit from them you need to make sure you get a male tree and a female tree.

I live up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I think we are zone 3 and all of these grow here good. We always get a lot of the cherrys.

Another tree is the mayday tree. Just a warning, the sent of the flowers is very strong and they tend to growe very tall. Also the berries are edible, but nasty tasting. Birds like them though.
Reply:How about some indoor plants for you which can help reduce pollutants(Pollutant can be in the wall paint, glue use in furniture, even computer, printer and etc are emitting pollutant)? He will be impressed and feel that you are very very smart girl.

Sansevieria - you can tell him this plant can produce oxygen at night.Cool isn't it. It has another name called Mother-In-Law's Touge(Because it will never die), isn't it fun.It is very easy to take and will not die if you forget to water it for a long long time, don't even have to worry when you are away for vacation.Nice indoor plant.

English Ivy - In a hanging basket near window or a small pot on the table. Easy to take care, very beautiful leaves, very romantic.

Codioeum Variegatum Pictum - small pot of plant, green leaf with lovely yellow spots. The plant will change it colour to greenish when it does not have enough light, turn yellowish again when give it sufficient light. People will start talking about it when they see it. Very beautiful and easy care.

If he likes flowering plants - Begonia, African Daisy, Orchid and Tulips.

Why is my computer screen pink only in standard mode?

My desktop is pink. I just got this used monitor from a friend and when it came on everything was pink. Different shades of pink (an even a little lilac here and there). Even the text that I am typing now is a mauve. I started my computer in safe mode and other than the color depth and range being 16bit and the pics being huge everything was fine. The pink was completely gone. So why is it only pink when booted regularly. I would think that if it was a hardware problem it would pink regardless of any boot settings. Please help me fix this! PLEASEEEEEEE! Im dying here.

Why is my computer screen pink only in standard mode?
Go into properties of your graphics card - from device manager or control panel applet - and open the tab for monitor. You need to select the monitor model you are now using so your graphic card can communicate with it.
Reply:It might help to know what monitor you're using.

It might be an old monitor that is only compatible with 16-bit color. It's a little dumbed down, but go ahead and try it. Go to control panel-%26gt; display (in vista it's control panel-%26gt;personalization -%26gt; display settings), and change the color to 16-bit mode.

If that doesn't fix it, check for a loose connection or bent pin on the cable. It might also have to do with some interferance, so try jiggling the cable around.

If that doesn't work, download the latest drivers for your video card. You can find out what you're using in the same display box i told you to access prior. It should read "Generic monitor on THIS GRAPHICS CARD". Look up that card on your favorite search engine, and download the newest drivers for it.

It might also just be a busted display, but if safe mode worked, I doubt it.
Reply:customer care, they have a number. glad to help
