Are these good wedding colors?

I am unsure of our wedding colors. His favorite color is Red and mine is purple (like a lilac or lavendar color). How can we make it work? I have come up with three color schemes. Tell me what you think:

Apple Red/Ivory/chocolate brown

Apple Red/Silver/Ivory

Apple Red/Champaign/Chocolate Brown

This is for a August wedding. Can you also help with some color schemes for purple...i want to see my favorite color there too.

Are these good wedding colors?
All of those color combinations are workable!

Plus...have you thought of maybe a chocolate brown and maybe a light lilac and a duskier shade of lilac? For that, you might even add a little yellow in there (maybe in the floral arrangements or what your attendants carry)?

Or, instead of candy apple red, a lilac and an ivory.

Another idea would be to have the groom/groomsmen wear red ties or maybe red vests/cumberbuns or maybe even just red suspenders (that could be a little laugh at the reception that follows, if there is one).

Congratulations and I hope you have a long, happy life together!
Reply:For August, I really wouldn't recommend chocolate brown. It's not the fall season, therefore making it seem illogical to use a fall color.

Also, I'm not sure how concerned you are with being "original", but if you are, apple red is NOT the way to go, my lady!

If you're looking to incorporate purple, I suggest going with a lavender and baby blue scheme (think hydrangeas), purple and sort of like a lime green, or even purple and black. I've seen a Bill Levkoff brand European Eggplant and black combo. Purple and black are gorgeous together!
Reply:I love the Apple Red/Silver/Ivory. That would be classy and sophisticated.

I also like the Apple Red/Ivory/chocolate brown. Its a bit different but would look really great.

How about mixing then and doing Apple Red/Ivory/chocolate brown with little bit of silver in jewelry, shoes for the girls, and in the decor here and there.
Reply:You can easily do red and purple - if you use the right shades, it can look amazing! They are both jewel tones, so it can work.

Reply:All of these combinations are do-able, you could even have a desert table with candy apples!!!!! I would go with the red, silver, ivory! The silver and ivory blended together have a more lilacy look to it! Maybe even a pearl color could get mixed into it!! Congratulation!!!
Reply:The easiest way to do red and purple, is to do his groomsmen wearing some red, and your bridesmaid dresses to be purple. (that's what my husband and I are doing) and I think that Red/silver/ivory is the prettiest together.
Reply:I like apple red silver and champagne.

For purple how about:

dark purple, lavender, soft light yellow or

dark purple, lavender, silver

3-4 shades of purple

Whatever you decide I hope your special day is perfect.
