What colour?

I am decorateing my bedroom and i cant decide what colour goes with lilac. Any suggestions greatly recieved. Thanks

What colour?
a light green or an off white, some light blues, a light yellow...basically any light color(except orange and brown and black and colors like that)
Reply:It would need to be a 'pastel' shade so that the lilac won't be swamped. Light green would be best I think, or if you like maybe pink or blue. I'd definitely avoid yellowy or orangey colours though - they'd clash too much with the lilac. A few touches of bright red would add some nice sparkle as well. Good luck !
Reply:My ex-partner was Lilac mad and she decorated our bathroom in Lilac with a Silver frieze bordering the walls and Chrome and Silver coloured fittings, she also used an Azure (silver-grey) cushion floor lino. This was really smart.
Reply:Cream, white, sage green, mint green, pale yellow (for contrast), deep purple, or a mocha color (light brown/taupe).
Reply:How about a light gold?

It would make the room seem really scumpious and luxrious.

Imagine a brass bed with elegant fabrics like purple velvet scatter cushions and a brown faux fur throw spread over your gold satin duvet cover.

On the window - gold organza voile panels with brass curtain pole and fancy hold backs.

You could even have a Chandelier hanging over your bed.

Oh and lots of candles and table lamps, it would very cosy and romantic.

Maybe a fur rug and some kind of fabric hanging behind the bed.

I could go on and on...

xx

Reply:greens'carrabian,moss,pyreness,sage,tara...

almond,mint,seafoam, antiques , golds
Reply:I have a spare room in my house that is lilac and grey.
Reply:Lighter or darker? White with a hint of lilac, creamy colours, very pale blue, purple will all go. Buy some tester pots if you can't decide and place them next to your primary colour, then choose the one you like best.
Reply:gray
Reply:Sage or mint greens, cream and white, certain shades of blue...since you did not say what in the room is already lilac, it would be hard to suggest other colors or combo's..but if say the walls are lilac...anything with the green/white/blue/lilac combo would be nice...remember though..less is more when decorating..and don't buy EVERYTHING to match...mix it up a little (stripes with plaids or floral prints...things like that)...you want the room to relfect YOU...not the manufacturer of whatever you purchase....
