Ok, I have seen quite a few questions on here about centerpieces and have even given answers to some. I was thinking of doing candle centerpieces with the mirror such as these http://www.orientaltrading.com/applicati... or http://www.orientaltrading.com/applicati...
but I'm kind of getting bored with having candles and/or mirrors as centerpieces. Anyone have any other ideas? Our colors are lilac and silver.
Centerpieces?
I've decided that I'm doing a martini glass w/ water in and a floating candle as my centerpiece and put some flowers around the bottom of it.. Then I'm either putting that wedding confetti on the tables or beads....
Reply:I was toying with the idea of putting a small bowl with a goldfish in it at each table, with some pretty colored marbles in your wedding colors, but it doesn't really go with the rest of my reception decor. I think it would be so cute, though- or maybe one of those Betta fish- they tend to be purple so it would match your colors. You could put a mirror under the bowl to sort of magnify it and make it look really cool. Then, you have a built-in wedding favor- someone at each table gets a new pet!
Reply:i am getting married on a boat in july and i will be putting a fish bowl with 2 fish in it on the tables with colored marbles on the bottom and floating candles in the water!
Reply:I bought simple black wrought iron centerpieces with votive candles (8)in them on sale at Crate and Barrel 2--then my friend is lending me large clear glass bowl vases to go in the center.. I plan to put several large flowers--like hydrangea, freesias, etc. in them--will use shiny green leaves to line the bowls to hide the stems. But I only have 12 tables and I wanted low centerpieces so everyone can talk easily. The room is fairly dark so I want lots of light and a clean look. I plan to resell the centerpieces on eBay and recoup some of the $.
Reply:One thing I have learned about centerpieces is that no one pays attention to them. If you ask anyone about what they remember from a wedding (aside from their own) nobody says "oooh the centerpieces" . So I dont think you need much.
If you want something different how about a shallow glass bowl and float a few candles or even a few large flower blossoms (magnolias come to mind).
PS, try efavormart.com, they are a bit cheaper than orientaltrading
Reply:For my wedding my mom %26amp; I handmade my cenerpeices. We made castles they came out beautifully!! A lot of people don't even remember what you use as centerpieces, but ours were so creative everyone was raving about them!!!
They couldn't belived we hand made them %26amp; everyone wanted to take one home!!! My husbands cousion actually wore it on his head as a hat the rest of the wedding!! It was pretty funny :)
Reply:Have a small bouqet of flowes(the same flowers as the bride'smaids) on the tables with tea light candles around the flowers. It is very elegant looking.

Reply:totally depends on your budget.. and the venue..
I think this one is pretty cool, especially if your tables are rectangular or oblong..

Reply:Depending how big your tables are, it looks like those may be a bit small. The hearts are only 6" with a very small candle on them. I would think twice about those.
I'm going with something very simple and doing them myself. Square vases that are 8" tall with Daisies in them and a bow tied around the vase. Very simple but elegant at the same time. Something like these...

Reply:Try going to www.surroundings.com. They have some beautiful centerpieces...they are a little pricey, but I am sure you can get some ideas and find the supplies elsewhere. It's pretty basic.
Or try www.centerpiecestore.com
Hopefully this will give you some good ideas
Best of luck! and congrats! :)
