I'm Redecorating my Room?

I Have Lilac carpet and walls. I am planning to put black and white bed spread , curtians and accents. Do you think this is a good idea? Please hep me with ideas. Also I would like to know where to get black and white pictures from fashion mags , ads, ect. Old ones almost chanel esque. Thanks so much!

This, with the tones of grey mixed with the black will be a nice blend with the lilac. Add a couple of throw pillows in the lilac and you should be able to pull that off no problem.





I like the idea of your black and white photos. If you were to use a matte with a lilac trim, it will help pull your room together also. If you wanted a more feminine touch, you could use a lilac ribbon behind the pictures, (bow above, tails hanging below) that will create that extra warmth without too much expense.

Reply:If it were me I would choose a design that had a flowing movement in the black. That way it is not so stark. You might also look for a print or picture with the same type of design in it to put above the bed to tie it in.

Reply:It could be pretty, but don't let the black overwhelm the other colors. You may not want it to look like a 1950's bathroom :) Carry the lilac into your accessories a bit, or you'll look as if you didn't like the lilac and were stuck with it.





You can get some very reasonably priced fashion prints on eBay. Hope that helps!
