I love pink but I am not sure if that would be a nice accent wall in the bedroom. I am also thinking of a lilac since that is one of the available colors in my apartment.
What do you think is the best color for an accent wall in the bedroom?
An accent color depends on the color of the other walls and any accent colors you may have in the room. example; lime green walls, with off white trim and the accent wall is like a goldish yellow, but more gold than yellow. Then with yellow/gold accent pillows on the couch. There are very fine threads in the furniture of the yellow/gold. Oh, I forgot the moss green, tab top curtains on the patio door.
Just be sure that some how all the colors go together. You don't want purple with red if there is no purple in the room. Hope you understand.
Reply:Peach. Lavender. Pale pastel yellow. Pale pastel green.
Reply:It depends on what colors you got flowing through the room. you want your colors to compliment each other but then again not blow them all away...Give us a better idea of the colors already in the room and maybe we can give you ideas
Reply:If you look at the dulux paint site, there are loads of ideas.
Reply:An interior designer would ask, "why do you need an accent wall?" There should be a good reason like an architectural detail in the room or creating a background for a special piece of furniture or art. Even then, the color from the accent wall must be carried over onto the other walls in drapery fabrics, art prints, etc.
If you want to add color to the room and you love pink, paint the entire room a comfortable shade of pink. You can bring in the lilac and other compatible colors in your bedding, drapes, pillows, and pictures on the walls.
If you feel you must do only one wall, consider a wallpaper pattern that contains the color of the other 3 walls as well as the pink you love and any other colors you want. At least that will blend in instead of being a drastic contrast between the 3 white or off-white walls and the one odd "accent" wall.
