Decorating advice please??
I'm going to recommend a color called "oak creek" by sherwin williams for the hall, stairs %26amp; landing.

especially if you can see your hall from the living room, I would suggest the color "mountain road." it would coordinate with the "oak creek" beautifully. and it will look very cozy %26amp; warm.

for the bathroom, how about a light green? like "ryegrass," and paint the ceiling %26amp; any trim "extra white." it will look lovely %26amp; feel "spa-like."
Reply:You need a fairly light colour on hall, stairs and landing. Pale-ish peach, apricot or deep cream - all are light but look warm and go well with mahogany furniture. For the bathroom you can't beat blue, especially if you have a white suite but be careful with the shade so its not a cold blue. These are all nice, fresh shades

If the room is half-tiled, you can pretty much have any colour as it won't look too dark and can look great if you get matching towels.

For the living room, you don't want too deep a colour or it could look dark and gloomy with mahogany furniture unless its a sunny room, but you could pick out one wall, like the fireplace wall and do it in a darker shade. Traditionally red goes well with that style of furniture and so does green. Some paint manufacturers do a special range of classic colours to suit that sort of furniture.

This is good paint. Most matt paints don't clean well if you get marks on them but this one is good, not a big range of colours unfortunately but it gives you the idea. If you are worried about little fingers, use either silk paint or on of these special matts.

Reply:A taupe color would be good. In fact I am getting ready to paint my dining room and bathroom this color. It will stay clean looking and it goes with anything. The color I chose is from Home Depot and it is called Sisal. I am going to use an accent color of a real deep dark purple color called washington square. Hope this helps.
