I saw a wedding designer for my wedding and reception. The colors in the wedding are liliac and silver w/ white. When I met with the designer, we were discussing putting purple with christmas colors since the wedding is going to be around christmas. It was beautiful the way she had the table set up.
It was dark purple, cold, and cream. And remember my wedding colors are lilac silver and white. The wedding and reception will be in the same room so will these colors throw everything off. will it clash, Does the wedding and the reception really need to be the same colors.
please help
Do your wedding reception colors suppose to match the colors your bride maids are wearing?
Does the planner know the colors of the wedding? If so, I would imagine they would all compliment each other, she wouldnt be a very good planner if she made everything clash. Have she show your swatches of her colors and you hold up swatches of the ceremony colors and see how everything meshes.
Good luck!
Reply:sounds PERFECT!!!
Reply:Everything would have worked together well except the cream and white. The lilacs, even if off a few shades, is fine. The silver and gold - always classic, but the cream and white are going to give you problems. It will look like either one of you didn't know the others colors, or that you couldn't find the color you wanted so you went with what the Dollar Store had in stock.
Talk to her and make sure you are both on the same page. If you like the cream better than the white (or vice versa) make the changes so they everything is the same hue.
Reply:Hi. Well, I don't think everything needs to be matchy, matchy, and I never do understand how people get 3 colors!
I understand that your "wedding" colors are white, lilac and silver. I'm assuming your gown is white and the bridesmaids gowns are lilac...so I do get that. But where does the silver come in?? Is that just with the jewelry?
In any case, I think the dark purple, gold and cream will look good as lilac and purple really are in the same "color family." However, if you already have some "silver" decorations, then the gold may clash with that.
It does seem to be a lot of colors....unless, again you were only using the "silver" as an accent with the jewelry.
Reply:Usually everything matches, but its your wedding, so I say do what you want. Congrtas
Reply:Usually when you say "wedding colors" it is meant the color them for the entire day of the wedding. So the wedding ceremony and the reception would have the same colors.
Reply:It doesn't have to be all the same colors but they should be complimentary. If the table looked good and everything blended, then go for it.
Reply:Yes as far as I know it is.
